In its recent decision, WIPO UDRP panel has adjudicated that the domain name <omegawatch.es> be transfered to Omega SA, the well known watchmaking company based in Switzerland. While there is not much surprising in this case as far as the claim itself is concerned, rather it is very much straightforward, but the interesting aspect of it is to be found in the fact that the respondent was a Nigerian citizen who registered Spanish country-code domain name. This very clearly shows that it is simply not acceptable for well-known established brands to have any third party registered any domain name incorporating their protected mark, ccTLD not being any exception.
